the SOTAMA'2007 will be held in Kraków (Poland) at the AGH University of Science and Technology at the end of September 2007. The registration desk will be open in the Main Building (A-0) of the University (Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection) from 14:00 on 26th September. Also there, in the Main Hall of the A-0 Building, a commersial Exhibition accompanying the Symposium will be open from morning hours on 26th September.

How to get to Kraków

Krakow lies at the crossroads of the main tourist traffic flows in Central Europe. Important roads, highways and the cross-road of E77 (linking the North with the South), and E40 (linking the West and East) are located near Krakow.

Many travel agencies offer permanent coach connections between Kraków and numerous cities in Europe. A few airline companies offer regular flights to and from Krakow. Railway connections from all European countries are convenient, although there are also bus connections with countries in the vicinity of Poland.

Arrival by air:

The International Airport Balice is located 15 km from the city centre. City bus transportation (No. 192 and 208) is the least expensive and most reliable service. Taxis are also available (fare: approx. EURO 15-20).

The Polish Airlines LOT offers direct flights from Krakow to Frankurt, London, Paris, Rome, Vienna and Zurich. Transit via Warsaw from: Amsterdam, Bangkok, Berlin, Bonn, Brussels, Budapest, Chicago, Kiev, Lvov, Stuttgart and others. Air France, Australian Airlinesand Swissair also land at Balice airport.

Arrival by train:

Direct international railway connections to Kraków from Austria (Vienna), the Czech Republic (Prague), Germany (Berlin, Dresden, Frankfurt/M, Frankfurt/O, Leipzig), Hungary (Budapest), Slovakia (Bratislava, Kosice), Ukraine (Kiev, Lvov, Odessa). Kraków is also linked with all the other main towns in Poland. The Inter City train trip from Warsaw takes 2.5 hours. The main railway station in Krakow is located in the city centre and not far from the Symposium spot and the hotels.
